I am a 40-year-old Japanese woman and have been working as an environmental journalist.

In 1999, I developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) after I took a medicine, which was prescribed by a doctor for endometrioma. Suddenly I began to react to all sorts of chemicals such as tobacco smoke, perfume and detergent. I have suffered from headaches, nausea, depression, fatigue, sleeping problems, heart palpitations, etc. My health condition became worse as time went by.

Most Japanese doctors do not know about MCS or the hazards of chemicals so it was a year later when I finally received suitable care from a doctor who was trained at the EHC-D. (Environmental Health Center in Dallas).

I take some minerals and vitamins according to the results of my Hair Analysis.I was also directed to start a traditional Japanese diet, to work up a sweat by doing sports, to take hot baths, and to remove all chemicals from my living space. My health condition improved. After 2 years I could work without any problems and I did not react to most chemicals any more.

However, I developed Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity (EHS) in 2002. My condition became worse again and I suffered from depression, fatigue, insomnia and headaches when I got exposed to Electromagnetic Fields, (EMFs) lights and specific sounds. Unfortunately, my doctor didn’t have enough knowledge about EHS and EMFs so I had to collect information myself about them from foreign web sites and books.
