As with many medications, there can be side effects. Some of the side effects may include infection, nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, constipation, decreased appetite, dizziness, sweating, tremor, sexual side effects, injury, yawning, weakness, insomnia, abnormal vision or sleepiness. Talk to your doctor if you are taking prescription medication known as triptans, which are used for migraine or cluster headaches. When used in combination with Paxil CR or other antidepressant treatments, these drugs may lead to potentially life-threatening complications.
Some studies of paroxetine in pregnant women have suggested an increased risk of heart malformations. In addition, babies born to mothers who have taken antidepressants, including SSRIs such as Paxil CR, in the latter half of pregnancy have reported complications, including difficulties with breathing, turning blue, seizures, changing body temperature, feeding problems, vomiting, low blood sugar, floppiness, stiffness, tremor, shakiness, irritability or constant crying. Tube feeding, help with breathing, and longer hospitalization may be needed. There have also been reports of premature births in pregnant women exposed to SSRIs, including Paxil CR.

Like many antidepressants, Paxil CR can be present in breast milk so tell your doctor if you are nursing.

Suicidality in Children and Adolescents

Antidepressants increased the risk of suicidal thinking and behavior (suicidality) in short-term studies in children and adolescents with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and other psychiatric disorders. Anyone considering the use of PAXIL CR or any other antidepressant in a child or adolescent must balance this risk with the clinical need. Patients who are started on therapy should be observed closely for clinical worsening, suicidality, or unusual changes in behavior. Families and caregivers should be advised of the need for close observation and communication with the prescriber. PAXIL CR is not approved for use in pediatric patients. Doctors Warned that Commonly Used Painkillers Linked to Increased Risk of Heart Attacks

Mark's story

Mark was born toxic-sensitive and with many allergies to food, chemical pesticides and pollens. In his early years he was required to wear a mask with a filter on his back to filter air. He also had severe asthma and eczema.

Before this horror journey began over 10 years ago, Mark was a brilliant athlete, top basketball player, very bright student (in the top 1%) and a happy go-lucky teenager when we simply asked for help with a bad reaction that Mark had to some street drugs which he was tricked into taking while on a school camp. When a Dr knknknkn gave him amitriptyline Mark could not even manage to get out of bed. I'd pull him up and he would simply fall back down. As we live in the country, we had our consultation by satellite dish with the doctor in Sydney. I rang this doctor 15 times and he never answered. He was then head of the Children's Hospital.
