![]() Canada Coordinator Bonita & Gilles Bonita Poulin Email: poulin(at)xplornet.com I have been disabled by MCS since Nov/99 after working for 10+ years in a chemical factory. Now I try to educate others to try to prevent them from getting sick with it and share what helped me. I have found several things to be very beneficial in regaining some health: Chelation therapy to remove heavy metals and chemicals stored in my body, sauna detoxing, Essiac Tea, NAET treatments, moving to a safer house in an better environment and stress reduction. I have done both EDTA and DMPS chelation IVs in the past and am currently doing EDTA suppositories to lower my total load. I had also developed severe left-sided weakness (partial paralysis) to the point that my hand would become useless and my foot would drag and trip me. I have recently started on a strict anti-candidas diet and am starting to see some improvement in these symptoms as well. There is hope! Read Bonita's story: Click here British Colombia

Yasuko Kato Website: VOC-EMF (in Japanese) Email: yas-kato(at)syd.odn.ne.jp I am a 40-year-old Japanese woman and have been working as an environmental journalist. In 1999, I developed Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS) after I took a medicine, which was prescribed by a doctor for endometrioma. Suddenly I began to react to all sorts of chemicals such as tobacco smoke, perfume and detergent. I have suffered from headaches, nausea, depression, fatigue, sleeping problems, heart palpitations etc. My health condition became worse as time went by. Most Japanese doctor do not know about MCS or the hazards of chemicals so it was a year later when I finally received suitable care from a doctor who was trained at the EHC-D. (Environmental Health Center in Dallas) I take some minerals and vitamins according to the results of my Hair Analysis. I was also directed to start a traditional Japanese diet, to work up a sweat by doing sports, to take hot baths, and to remove all chemicals from my living space. My health condition improved. After 2 years I could work without any problems and I did not react to most chemicals any more. However, I developed Electromagnetic Hyper Sensitivity (EHS) in 2002. My condition became worse again and I suffered from depression, fatigue, insomnia and headaches when I got exposed to Electro Magnetic Fields, (EMFs) lights and specific sounds. Unfortunately, my doctor didn’t have enough knowledge about EHS and EMFs so I had to collect information myself about them from foreign web sites and books.

Kerkia(at)aol.com Isle of Wight Isle of Wight Region Coordinators ![]() Richard & Shirley Bruce Website: OPRUS Organophosphates, Pesticides and Related Ubiquitous Substances Email: isleofwight(at)mcs-global.org I was born on a large farming estate in Hampshire, England and followed my father, grandfather, and uncles, into the industry starting as a student and gradually worked my way up to management level running a dairy, arable and beef farm here on the Isle of Wight. I met my wife Shirley in 1987 and we married in June 1988. Shirley and her late father had also worked in farming so we worked together on the farm and the children from our earlier marriages helped at busy times too. All was well until the owner of the farm sold up in 1991 and the farm was swallowed up by an agribusiness that farmed in various places around the world. In January 1992 I was poisoned by an illegal mixture of the organophosphorus chemicals that are added to grain and, because doctors had not been told of the potential symptoms I was treated with contraindicated drugs that made matters worse. I am now classified as disabled and in need of care, and suffer with reactions to a very wide range of chemicals which I formerly had no reaction to at all. Although officials of government deny the links to the chemicals, like others in farming areas, Shirley was diagnosed with a highly malignant breast cancer that had entered the lymph nodes. As a result she was given chemotherapy and radiation treatment and suffered similar symptoms to my own. She is now also susceptible to normally "safe" chemicals, although not as badly as I am. We are lucky to have the support of our family and our doctors but we know that others are not so lucky and so we are determined to use our experiences as a warning to others and to help where we can. When pressure has been brought to bear in efforts to silence us we think of our eight grandchildren and pregnant daughter and fight on for them and their future in this chemically contaminated world.
